Squadron Leader S.R.K. Paramahamsa (Retd) is the Director and Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology (VVIT), Nambur, Guntur, AP. He stood University first in B.Sc (Maths) from Andhra University in 1961. He did B.E with distinction from I.I.Sc., Bangalore in 1964 and M.Tech from I.I.T Kharagpur in 1974.
He worked for 13 years in Indian Air Force in the fields of HF Beacons, VHF ground - to - air and air - to - ground R/T, S - Band search and detection radars, X-Band conical scanning radar systems, X-Band GCA and PAR systems, Instruments Landing Systems, Surface-to-air guided Missiles. As the guidance officer he was responsible for making No 68 Squadron, Air Force to stand first among all Guided Weapons Combat Squadron in India in 1969.
After leaving Indian Air Force he took up teaching, his real passion. He worked as a Reader in the Department of ECE in Andhra University of Engineering during 1979 – 85 and later joined Bapatla Engineering College as the Head of the Department of ECE. He was the Principal of Koneru Lakshmaiah College of Engineering in 1989. He was the founder Principal of RVR & JC College of Engineering, Guntur, Vignan Engineering College, Vadlamudi and St Ann’s College of Engineering, Chirala. From the time of inception he has been working as the Director, VVIT.
His hobbies are all green-technology oriented and eco friendly in nature and include production of Mushrooms from agricultural waste and generating electrical power using solar thermal systems.
