The much awaited Venture Development Centre, an initiative by APSSDC under the prestigious Northeastern University of Boston, America has been inaugurated/launched on October 5, 2017, at VVIT to promote a culture of Innovation based Entrepreneurship in Global perspective for the students of Andhra Pradesh.
Mr. Krishna P. Nangegadda, Director & Senior Professor, Northeastern University of Boston and two other Senior Officials from APSSDC, were present as Chief Guest and Motivators for this Venture Development Centre inauguration program.
Sri Nangegadda, Chief Guest of this occasion, informed about the International Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (i2E) which is an Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation’s initiative for promoting culture of innovation based entrepreneurship in students. He said that i2E is established in partnership and close collaboration with Northeastern University of Boston, USA. Under i2E, courses in Entrepreneurship development were planned for the aspiring students to turn as entrepreneurs under the Expert guidance by experienced entrepreneurs globally. The delivery of these courses were planned via Venture Development Centres (VDC) across Andhra Pradesh and as an initial pilot project only 4 centres were planned by APSSDC in which VVIT is one.
He explained that these Centres will build competencies through practical, hands-on experiential learning and help empower entrepreneurs to develop and launch successful ventures. He said a Diploma course will be conducted and awarded for the enrolled students, jointly by Northeastern University and APSSDC. They endorsed that this diploma is recognized by NU Boston with one course credit and very much worthy for the US-Aspirants. The top two ventures and candidates will be allowed to participate in the NU’s Husky Start-up Challenge competition.
Mr. Nangegadda, chief guest of this inauguration, much-admired the establishment of Siemens’ Centre of Excellence Laboratory facilities provided by the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) in VVIT. He also stated that these facilities were better than that of many International Educational Institutions including American Universities and the basic amenities were far better when compared to our own pedestal globally.
Mr. Krishna P. Nangegadda , stated that they were very much pleased with the way how the students of VVIT have shown their interest in this Diploma Course and commended their efforts in presenting the prototypes of the projects done for Indian School of Business (ISB). They also admired the efforts of VVIT and its Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Cell(I&EDC) and Project Development Clubs for putting relentless efforts to motivate the students.
