A Cultural Folk Dance Program is held today 21 March 2018, by the Kashmiri Folklore Dance Performers, under the aegis of VVIT’s Dance Club in association with Department of Art, Culture & Language, Government of Andhra Pradesh, in VIVA Indoor Auditorium.

A group of renowned artists from Kashmir participated in this series of Dance Performances. Around 150 dancers grouped into 13 teams graced this event with scintillating performances. As we all know Kashmir is famous not only for its scenic beauty but also for its traditional dances. Kashmiri people celebrate their festivities with a number of folk dances. The folk dances and music of the Kashmir valley form an important part of the Kashmiri culture.

Some of the dance performances conducted in Kashmiri Folklore are Rouf, Bhand Pather, Gokhree, Dogre, Budh, Hafiza Dance, Bhand Jashan, Bacha Nagma, Wuegi-Nachun which portrayed their tradition and most popular conventional dances. These beautiful dance performances were the forms, which grace all their festive occasions, especially Id and Ramzan and Marriage Ceremony days. The dances were performed by a group of women facing each other and the simple footwork by them in Rouf Dance is both a visual as well as an artistic treat.

Sri M.SreeKrishna, Joint Secretary of VVIT, in this regard, expressed that the students and faculty were enthralled with the performances of Kashmiri Dancers. He said VVIT always makes use of every opportunity for introducing our culture and heritage to the younger generations. He said the performances reflected the Kashmiri culture very well.

In this regard Dr.Y.Mallikarjuna Reddy stated that VVIT is always step ahead in organizing this kind of events that make the students aware of the socio-cultural-economic perspective of every part of our globe. In this regard Dr.Reddy stated that their Dance Club made the necessary arrangements for this event to be successful. Dr.Reddy commended the efforts of Government of AP Cultural Affairs Ministry for organizing this kind of Cultural Integration promoting events.
Management Members, Secretary Sri S.Badari Prasad, Jt.Secretary Sri M.Sree Krishna and Principal Dr.Y.Mallikarjuna Reddy, felicitated the Teams of Dancers as a token of respect towards the National Culture and Heritage.

Dean Prof N.Kumara Swamy, all Heads of the Departments, Faculty and students along with the Dance Club Coordinator of VVIT participated in this event.
