About the Department of CSO
To meet the global needs and make students industry-ready engineers, a new program with the name of Computer Science and Engineering (Internet of Things) was started from the academic year 2020-2021 with an intake of 60 students. To perform the academic and research activities of this program, a separate department namely "Department of Computer Science and Technology-CSO" was initiated. In this program, students will learn about the development of smart applications using microcontroller-based development boards, sensors, actuators, interface modules, to perform cloud operations through mobile apps, simulation tools, prototype devices, etc. The curriculum is designed meticulously suits to the need of students to comprehend the basic functional and procedural aspects of this specialization and hone their career towards meeting the global demands.
The theme of the course includes software designing, hardware designing, networking and holistic subjects. The implementation of diverse technologies such as Software programming, Embedded Systems, Wireless sensor networks, Communication protocols, Cloud computing, Web services, Big data analytics, etc. considered in this program.
As technology is dominant new trends, technical courses are acquiring relatively a lot of fame. Now-a-days, communication is critical, and no longer just for people. Our systems communicate to each other through complex wireless networks that involve the internet and this changes our regular activities. “Smart” gadgets such as watches, phones, cameras, home security systems, autonomous vehicles and even home appliances are connected and can interact in a united way. These devices and their “language” are the focus of this undergraduate program in the Internet of Things (IoT). In its operation, the communication and connections are established through “Cloud” network without taking the assistance from humans. This program teaches students a vast amount of data for a complete IoT skill set.
Students can better understand the importance of technology in the future and train themselves accordingly. This IoT grabs a lot of admiration and slowly renovates the existing state of technology by reforming the internet services. Graduates will be able to apply their knowledge to a large range of IoT careers in the real world.

About Head of the Department
Dr Chintalapudi V Suresh is a Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Technology. He pursued Post Graduation and PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the esteemed Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada.
He has 14 years of teaching and 3 years of research experience. Under his able guidance, two PhD scholars and 03 PG students have completed their degrees. He also completed one research sponsored project funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi worth 31 Lakhs. To recognize his research contributions, he achieved a grant of one national patent and another patent has been published. So far, he has published 25 research papers in various International Journals of repute and presented research work in 14 International conferences. To his research credit, he received the prestigious “Best Researcher Award” from JNTU Kakinada for the year 2018. He also conducted several National conferences and seminars for the sake of the faculty community with the grants received from AICTE and DST.
He played a vital role in the establishment of Internet of Things Laboratory in VVIT.
Dr Suresh has been serving his duties in many capacities such as a recognized member in the Editorial Board for i-manager's publications and reviewer for various international journals like Journal of Experimental & Theoretical Artificial Intelligence (Taylor and Francis), Journal of Circuits, Systems, and Computers, World Scientific, etc. He is also a life member of ISTE, IEI and holds membership in IEEE.
His areas of research include - automation using embedded systems, controllers design, application of electronics to design/develop models, development of artificial intelligence-based algorithms to simulate real-time problems, etc.
