The students of VVIT did extremely well and achieved the letter of appreciation from the Wikimedia as Top Contributors of “International Mother Language Day and Open Data Day (IMLD-ODD) 2018 Wikidata India Edit-a-thon”,   held as a ten day campaign this August 2018.

 

Mr.J.V.Sai Sumanth of III BTECH CSE, Ms. K.Suswetha, Ms. M.Navya of III BTECH ECE excel as top contributors among the 174 participants, who created 137  items, improved 3890 items and done 8900 edits as a whole during the edit-a-thon campaign.

VVIT Principal Dr.Y.Mallikarjuna Reddy congratulated the top contributors and expressed that the mission and vision of VVIT are providentially in line with the holy intentions of this kind of global movements as Wikimedia movement. Dr. Reddy also reckoned several contributions of their VVIT students in Wikimedia moment towards featured articles, featured lists, A-class articles, reviews and several significant activities.

Sri Vasireddy Vidya Sagar, Chairman of VIVA-VVIT Institutions along with the other VVIT-Wikimedians, faculty and students congratulated the top contributors.

Mr. Krishna Chaitanya Velaga, member of Wikimedia Executive Committee, Wikimedia India & Coordinator of WikiProject Military History, English Wikipedia & Outreach Coordinator of The Wikipedia Library, who is also a VVIT final year Mechanical Student, appreciated the Top Contributors and thanked them for making the initiative successful.
